Dr. Umut Erdoğan truly changed my life. For years I struggled with major breathing issues, my right nostril was almost always blocked, and because of a previous surgeon’s poor work, the tip of my nose had collapsed and I was starting to have problems on the left side too. I honestly didn’t think it could be fixed. But Dr. Erdoğan not only gave me back my ability to breathe (better than I have in years), he also gave me a nose that looks natural, feminine, and perfectly suits my face. In my case, I needed rib cartilage about 4 cm of it to rebuild structure and create a strong foundation for my nose. I won’t lie, this part is not easy. The nose surgery itself was painless, and aside from feeling a little groggy and tired from the medication the first day or two, it was very manageable and I could already do light things after just a couple of days. I had no bruising. But with rib cartilage, be prepared for a week of real discomfort. The first week is the toughest it’s painful at first and then shifts to more of a lingering discomfort until around the one-month mark, when things finally start to feel normal again. It’s definitely not an easy recovery, but if you need rib cartilage for structure, trust me, it is absolutely worth it for the long-term results. I also want to mention Ayşegül, the assistant, who was absolutely incredible. From the very beginning, she was so responsive to all my messages, always reassuring me that everything would be fine, and walking me through every step of the process from start to finish. Her dedication, patience, and hard work made the whole journey so much easier and honestly, she played a huge role in me feeling confident choosing this surgeon and moving forward with my decision. I came to Turkey alone, a little nervous, but the whole experience couldn’t have been smoother. From the hotel and transportation they arranged, to how clean and welcoming the clinic was, I felt completely safe and taken care of. The doctor, the nurses, and the assistants were all so kind and attentive, I never once felt like “just another patient.” One thing I want to stress, aftercare is everything. Any negative reviews I’ve seen are honestly just because people don’t follow the instructions. Surgery is only 50% of the process and the other 50% is what you do at home. I taped my nose every single night, used my retainer, and will continue for months because I can see how much it helps prevent scar tissue and keeps the results perfect. A friend of mine skipped taping after her own surgery and noticed her nose shifting, but when I showed her what Dr. Erdoğan taught me, it corrected within days. That’s how important aftercare is. When choosing a surgeon, please do your research. It’s so important to make sure your doctor has an ENT background (ears, nose, and throat). Many surgeons can make a nose look good on the outside, but without ENT training, they may not understand the deeper functionality that is absolutely essential. A nose should not only look beautiful, it should allow you to breathe properly and stay healthy long-term. Read every single review, ask questions, and make sure you’re choosing someone truly qualified like Dr. Erdoğan, who provides both function and aesthetics. If I could give 10 stars, I would. Two years ago, Umut Bey performed my rhinoplasty surgery and I was extremely pleased with the process. The aftercare is faultless, after surgery you have two follow up appointments before you leave and then the assistant is always on hand to check your progress and advise on aftercare - you are also given an informative aftercare sheet to take home and follow. After our meeting, which lasted less than two hours, Dr. Umut made a precise decision on the nose shape, not based on memorization but on the individual's facial characteristics. This demonstrates his experience as a doctor. I quickly determined the shape and underwent rhinoplasty the same day. He was discharged from the hospital the same day. I experienced very little bruising and swelling. I also thank our doctor's assistant, Tuğçe, for answering all my questions throughout the process and guiding me correctly regarding taping and massage. I'm currently in my eighth month. I'm so glad I chose Dr. Umut, both for the improvement in my appearance and my breathing quality.
